Pair Boston’s Revolution-era stories with four nearby pubs on a lively, low-walking Freedom Trail crawl led by a local guide.

“The description of the tour was, “The Freedom Trail with stops of a couple of historic pubs along the way.” You don’t see the historic part of the pub because we were led into a separate room with no character. The Freedom Trail is completely absent from the tour. The pubs were all next to one another. I really disappointed my family. Fortunately, we have time to walk the Freedom Trail ourselves today. The tour guide could not have peppered her talks with more expletives and meaningless antidotes about our history if she tried. I still gave her a good tip. Perhaps she was not trained, so she could write…”

7.2 Hour Historic Pub Crawl in Boston

★★★★★★★★★★5.0 · 45 reviews · 2 hours (approx.) · from $35

Review of Boston’s two-hour historic pub crawl, with Green Dragon, Dirty Nelly’s, local drinks, guide quality, cost, and practical tips.

“Very nice guide. Problem is we got a bit of Boston Pub history, practically no history of or information on beer (like what makes New England IPA) and beer tastings was “there’s the bar, buy yourself a beer”. No planned tastings or group seating. Basically we went to two pubs, got a small bit of the pubs unique history and that’s it. Felt more like we were just pointed in a direction and that’s it. I’ve been on beer tours before and this one needs improvement. Suggest side room or designated area. pub owner greeting, organized tastings and description of what we are tasting. Hard to do at happy hour…”
